Northwoods Therapy is now offering Therapeutic Yoga

As a part of our comprehensive physical therapy and rehabilitation services, we are now offering therapeutic yoga to help you restore function after injury or surgery or to improve mechanics that are otherwise compromised by a chronic condition or muscular asymmetries.  It is important to note that yoga is not simply a physical practice.  Yoga means “to yolk” or “to unite” the body, mind and spirit.  Our classes combine physical movement, breathing practices, meditation and applied yoga philosophy to create optimal balance for the body, mind in spirit. All sessions will include tools and techniques to address physical, energetic, mental and emotional awareness for optimal wellbeing. Classes will be lead by Heidi Dix, Experienced Yoga Teacher and Licensed Athletic Trainer.

Classes Offered:

Tuesdays @ 5:30pm: Therapeutic Slow Flow:  An hour of slow functional movement, supported by breath to help strengthen our body, ease your mind and connect with your spirit. Perfect for beginners, back health, mood management, arthritis, heart health, healthy aging and more. All ages and abilities welcome. Medical modifications will be offered for a safe and effective practice. Join us as the health benefits are profound and vital energy will feel amazing!
$10 drop-in or 10 sessions for $80

Private Therapeutic Yoga:  Private yoga sessions are an excellent way to help you restore function after an injury or surgery, improve mechanics that are otherwise compromised by a chronic condition of muscular asymmetry or receive a personalized yoga practice. Yoga therapy addresses the underlying cause of pain and suffering and to help create optimal balance within the body, mind and spirit.  In your yoga therapy sessions, you will receive an individual evaluation and create the goals and intentions for your practice. You will learn tools and techniques to address physical, energetic, mental, and emotional concerns as well as help you with overall body, mind and spirit health and wellbeing.

Private sessions are done by appointment only. Please call 715-563-7626 for more information or to schedule an appt.
